triva fact:
the sign on the wall of toph’s school (where there would usually be an encouraging phrase or quote like “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”) actually says a slangy phrase that means something along the lines of “do i owe you a beating??”欠揍嗎= a tough and somewhat hoodlummy thing to say, and so so beautifully toph.
as a pretty slangy phrase, there isn’t really a direct translation that would mean the exact same thing but yeah. something along the lines of “do i owe you a beating”/ “are you owed a beating”

The Backwater Gospel
This little short film is a stunning piece. A smart piece not only about religion, but more so about human nature, they capture the brutal essence of mankind when in a time of panic. In my opinion, this should win Best Animated Short Film next year since it (most likely) missed the cutoff to be nominated. It beats out almost all the ones that are nominated this year for sure.
NSFW: Violence, Blood and Gore
This is way more inspiring than a lot of recent animation shorts I’ve come across. I’m so hyped many think that this should win an Oscar. GUYS, WATCH IT.

Some Nickelodeon executives were worried, says Konietzko, about backing an animated action show with a female lead character. Conventional TV wisdom has it that girls will watch shows about boys, but boys won’t watch shows about girls.
During test screenings, though, boys said they didn’t care that Korra was a girl. They just said she was awesome.
